He is a senior executive in the consumer Internet space with expertise in acquisition marketing, product strategy, social media and general management. Experience spans start-up and large company environments with a track record of navigating online businesses to profitability while producing award-winning products.
Key executive roles: CMO Reply.com, VP Community Yahoo.com, VP Product Match.com, VP of Marketing & Product InfoSpace.com and VP GM Disney/ABC.com. He has overseen the development of many award-winning, consumer-facing websites such as: Match.com, Yahoo 360, Yahoo Groups, DisneyChannel.com, Oscar.com and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire".
As the Chief Marketing Officer for Reply.com he managed a $30mm PPC budget for high-margin, performance-based consumer acquisition. Under his leadership, he built Reply! into a top 100 spending PPC team in Google AdWords. He conceived, patented and launched Reply!'s Click Marketplace delivered over 30% of company's gross margin. He built Reply!'s publisher business which led to acquisition of MerchantCircle.com and relationships with Local.com and CBS
Prior to Reply!, Mr. Bowman was VP of community for Yahoo. While at Yahoo, he was responsible for Yahoo's online community applications (360, Groups, Photos and Avatars) and community platforms (Blogs, Ratings & Reviews, Reputation and Message Boards). As one of the few people in the world to have created more than one multi-million member online community he has spent the past 16 years developing and running products based around member interaction and social networking.
Prior to Yahoo, he was VP of Product Management & Marketing for Infospace's search and yellow pages division, VP of Product Development for Match.com, VP & General Manager of Disney/ABC.com and held positions at Disney Channel, Tuner/Cartoon Network and USWeb / Cybernautics.
Mr. Bowman graduated from Purdue University, sits several Advisory Boards. He resides in Livermore, CA with his wife and two daughters.
